We will write a custom essay sample on To live a purposeful life, you need a clear VISION or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page You will have to plan to know exactly what it is, and exactly where it is. You’ll have to have the right crew by your side. †¢This treasure, planning, journey and digging is what I am calling VISION†¦ Vision is not only the power to see, but also of foresight and imagination. Even the visually impaired have this power†¦the ability to see and comprehend beyond what their brains could interpret as optical data. Human beings have the ability to translate words and instructions imaginatively. We are able to draw mental pictures more clearly than we can even draw on paper or explain verbally. The greatest gift is not the ability to see, but this ability of vision. God put dreams where we cannot miss them. Because of vision, I am the best raw material to myself. A vision is a supernatural appearance, which only a supernatural ability can make comprehendible and tangible. †¢Where there is no vision, people perish†¦Prov 29:18 †¢My people perish because of lack of knowledge†¦Hosea 4:6 †¢Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us†¦Ephesians 3:20 †¢Prov 1:7 and 9:10†¦The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge/ wisdom. †¢Habakkuk 2:2†¦write the vision down†¦though it tarry’s, it shall come to pass †¢Do not despise the days of your humble beginnings†¦Job 8:7 VISION PART II By Dominic Khaemba From: The Ageless Note-book Teach me oh Lord to number my days that I may gain a heart of wisdom and lead a fulfilling life to you, myself, family and friends†¦Psalms 90:12 This section will make a stronger connection if you read it as a follow-up to part I. You can never remember what you never knew, and you can never apply what you cannot remember. As the world changes and perfects the struggles and the suffering that we face; as the world changes and justifies the insignificance of individual strength by being too complicated and fast; many people find themselves feeling impatient, hopeless and unworthy: When this happens, you need a reminder that you are still on a journey, and that your best days are ahead. But you cannot tell if you’re your best days are ahead if you have nothing to look forward to. This is where a vision for your life comes in as the ability to anticipate future events, touch them and believe in them as if they were real. Also, you will need a reminder of what your future plans are†¦but since you cannot remember what you never knew, you therefore come back to Knowledge as; a clear awareness and information gained through devoted study and Experience. This knowledge is what you shall apply in preparing for your future and this preparedness is what keeps us from despairing too quickly when overwhelmed by circumstances around us. Our creative imagination also plays a big part in determining how far God chooses to bless us. If we do not use this faculty to envision better lives for ourselves in the future, we limit God in terms of how much He also decides to bestow on us. Eph 3:20. Knowledge does two important things. It distinguishes us from fools and it is a sure preservative of our lives. But the knowledge acquired in the boundaries of God’s instruction is the one that is able to do this. Otherwise, this knowledge is useless†¦and can quickly turn our hearts into pride. Pride goes before a fall. From the verses above, without knowledge and vision, we perish. Without creative imagination, we receive little from God. It is only in the fear of the Lord that our knowledge can begin to yield better lives for us and the people around us. Living as you move towards your dreams is a life full of joy and peace in dimensions and depths one can never experience otherwise. With a sense of calling, †¢MY VISION IS ENLARGED THROUGH IMAGINATION and this way, †¢I won’t MIND THE SMALL SACRIFICES that I have to make as part of the journey. Personal inventory A personal inventory is a way to store up our vision. Habakkuk 2:2 says write the vision down. Though it tarry’s, it shall surely come to pass. Write it so that whoever reads it may run with it/ facilitate your attaining of that vision. Keep a personal inventory in a journal. This is among the questions you may ask yourself as you do so. 1.What is my calling? †¢The thing is to find ideas which allow me to power all my experiences, gifts and talents, all my wisdom and knowledge A calling is a duty to which one attaches special importance and devotes special care. It must be strong enough to allow me to combine a)Talent harnessed by discipline b)Passion paired with hard work c)Love united with commitment d)Consistency which wipes away complacency If you are leaving your calling, you exude an enjoyment and connection to the gifts that transcends the recognition, fame and fortune you may receive for expressing those talents. †¢If you find the thing which you can do for free, simply for the fulfillment of doing it, you have found your calling.

Free Essays on A Case Agianst Affirmative Action

Ever since the American social revolution precipitated by the civil rights movement of the 1950’s and ‘60’s, the United States’ government has sought an appropriate resolution concerning the question of race relations. In this country it was soon realized that, despite constitutional amendments and various legislative initiatives ensuring equal treatment for all citizens, widespread â€Å"institutional† racism continued to act as a reinforcement of social disparities along racial lines. As a result, minorities – African Americans in particular – have exclusively benefited from policies and programs aimed at narrowing this social gap between minorities and majorities. The policy of affirmative action in college admissions, and its relation to employment and narrowing social inequalities between minorities and majorities, however, is inherently unjust. In this paper, I will attempt to explain why affirmative action is not only unjust, but also a misguided policy which will reap results contrary to its ultimate goals. Affirmative action, it seams to many White people and a few minorities, is hypocritically unjust for fairly obvious reasons. For one, why would any social policy aimed at providing equal treatment for all people regardless of race, differentiate between people on the basis of race, not to mention use that basis as a reason for treating them differently? Isn’t it unfair to discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, whether they be members of the minority or majority? Most opponents of affirmative action would agree that, just because discrimination against non-White minorities occurred in the past, reverse discrimination should not be implemented against the White majority – a majority which had nothing to do with the discrimination of the past as a means of undoing past injustices and narrowing racial gaps. Proponents of affirmative action policies, on the other hand, would probably respon... America is Finished Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

America is Finished - Essay Example Spence, an economics professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business, a superior fellow in the Hoover Institution and former chairperson of Growth and Development Independent Commission, lives in Italy and California. The book is a nonfiction depiction of the future based on current trends and statistics in relation to previous happenings. The book talks about the Industrial Revolution third century, which is the era we are presently living in. As scholars that one can find can deduce it from limited resources, it is found that for numerous hundred decades until approximately 1750, the growth of the economy was insufficient anywhere in the Globe. By the world’s standards, majorities of people were pitiable and only a small group of the elite was rich. In some parts, there existed a small middle class, who were commercially oriented. This was the case visible almost the entire world. In 1750, England began a new and much improved course of the Industrial Revo lution raising the income per capita. The growth increased and was maintained for the pioneer time in the world’s history. This was the case for almost twenty decades until the Second World War began. By 1950, the standard earnings of persons living in the Industrial nations had increased by twenty times and in the case of more developed nations, this value rose more than this. This dramatic change of the growth pattern was limited to what we term industrialized or advanced nations. This changed the lives of about 15% of the globe's population. Apart from this group, the pattern of the previous hundred years merely presided thus little growth and people were still poor. This is to explain that, the global pattern was just one of the rapid divergences between the already developed and advanced verses others who are not. Commencing after the Second World War, the shift in pattern was tough at the initial stages to perceive it as a prominent trend started again. The nations in t he developing world began to develop. Initially, the growth was comparatively slow and only in distinct cases, there which it started to step up and spread. This signified the start of the international economy century extensive journey. The result is probably the world that 75% of its people reside in advanced nations with all that it comprises: escalating income growth with comparatively accelerating patterns of energy consumption and use. The next convergence is likely to bring debates how well to continue in the post crisis era and reset the equilibrium between national and global economic welfare and temporary fixes and continuing sustainability. Main Body With the Industrial revolution of the British, a fraction of the globe's population commenced to encounter peculiar economic growth that lead to gaps in living standards and wealth between the developed Europe and the rest of the globe. This trend of divergence was reverted after the World War II and presently we are halfway through 100 years of escalating and high development in the developing countries and a novel convergence with the developed nations are enormous but still comprehended. This book dates about further than 100 years that started in 1945 and will go into mid 21st century meaning that after two hundred years of high speed and accelerating divergence, a trend of convergence has engulfed the world. The author boldly and precisely outlines what is at stake globally as he portrays the future of the manner in which the global economy will rise over the subsequent fifty years. Furthermore the potential the health sector holds as far as management accounting research hold is discussed and facilitated with the description of the current developments in healthcare.Research in the management accounting of the health care sector primarily comprises of investigating the accounting and the control systems that are used by decision makers within the organization. A key component of the research in the accounting and healthcare sector is that which revolves around the cost associated with the everyday operations that are undertaken by these organizations. The rich b ody of literature available in this area has focused on a number of complex and important problems that arise in budgeting, contracting, cost accounting, management and reporting (Luft and Shields, 2003). Extant literature in the field of accounting published primarily approach the issue using an economics based theoretical framework, and focus on the study for-profit organizations. This paper discusses the distinct advantages and research opportunities offered by the healthcare industry that can be used by management accounting researchers. We look at the scope as well as the role played by the accounting practices mainly centered on cost management and risks in the healthcare sectors. Then we look at the implications of cost shifting and revenue constraints by hospitals operating in a changing regulatory environment and the impact that competition has on the need for accounting information. Next we view the advantages of using healthcare data for management accounting research. In the last section we look at the current development in the health care industry. Opportunities for Managerial Accounting Research in Health Care A setting that comprises of organizations with a large number of attributes as well as diversity provides researchers with considerable potential to study complex issues. The health care sector which consists of a multitude of hospitals in every country in the world has prevalent attributes such as multi dimensional objective functions, complex production functions and a huge number of diverse stakeholders. Furthermore major shifts in the regulation of this sector can be observed in the way it has moved from cost plus to fixed price reimbursement in many countries namely UK, Germany and Taiwan. Most notable is the move of the focus of competition from non price factors like quality to price-and-cost based competition, showing a major alteration to not only the revenue functions but also financial risk. Due to these changes the various aspe cts of hospital accounting, reporting and control systems are all impacted. This can simply be seen when you view the dilemma that surrounds health care contributing to both regulatory and normative pressures. It is required that hospitals provide patients with the best quality care regardless of their ability to pay while on the other hand it is imperative that they remain financially viable. This dilemma adds complexity to other aspects such as motivation, compensation, and evaluation of performance by hospital managers. If we view the aspect of compensation in isolation we will notice another critical element contributing to its complexity. This being ownership types such as non profit, for profit or public providing the same service and competing for the same customer base (Dranove, 1988; Hoerger, 1991; Pauly and Redisch, 1973). There are three distinct aspects of the healthcare sector which have a great influence on behavior as well as outcomes. These are regulation and competi tion, contracting and
